悲壮感漂う「大きな古時計」の続編、「Sequel To Grandfather’s Clock」

こちらの動画に出演しているのはイギリス王室直轄領のうちのひとつ、マン島に住んでいるおじいちゃんです。
Sequel To Grandfather’s Clockという歌を歌った動画なのですが実はこの曲、日本でもよく知られている「大きな古時計」という歌の正式な続編だそうです。
大きな古時計に続編があること、知っていましたか？僕は知りませんでした。
この動画ではおじいちゃんが歌詞をつけて歌ってくれていたので、ちょっと日本語に翻訳しながらみていきたいなと思った次第です。
時にはギターやオートハープを奏でながら美声を響かせ、また時にはマン島の豊かな自然写真とともに自作の歌を披露して。

終わりに
おじいさんと共に時を刻んだ大きな時計はおじいさんが旅立った後、同じようにどこかに旅だっていきました。
何とも言えない悲しい結末でしたね。
1878年につくられた曲なのでとても翻訳しづらかったです。
現在では使われていないようなイディオムもありました。（辞書には載ってなかった）
そこら中誤訳だらけだと思いますので、ここはこうしたほうがいいんじゃ？みたいな文章があればお知らせください。
